Instagram Collage

One: Super tasty brunch at The Coffee House on Cherry Street

Two: A nice, refreshing glass of champagne after yoga, waiting for take-out at Killkenny's.

Three: A minty-fresh manicure.

Four: My beautiful new Kate Spade wallet, courtesy of my first-ever tax return. Thanks, federal government!

Five: Thirsty Thursday at the Tulsa Dillers.

Six: Wet Newfy, mid tail wag, after a much-needed bath.

Seven: Homemade chocolate chip cookies. Baking is quickly becoming my favorite Sunday pastime.

Good luck on the week ahead, everyone! This week is my last week at work in Tulsa.

It honestly did not start sinking in, that in five days I will probably never see my co-workers again, until just typing that. I almost refuse to believe it. Welp, time for a mini freak-out. See ya!

Odds and Ends

Here is a collection of cool stuff I've been meaning to post for a while:
(Click images for source and to see more)

Incredible ink photography that I want in my house RIGHT NOW!

How fun is this DIY letter holder? I'm thinking I could do this even easier with a paper towel rack...

Mac key light switches...NERD ALERT!

Um...can you even believe this? This is Dick Clark's house (RIP) that is currently up for sale.
It also happens to be completely inspired and modeled after the Flinstone home.
That's right. The cartoon.

Stair Inspiration. This is just one photo out of 30 from Freshome's post of all things stairs. There are some pretty fun ideas...did someone say slide? Click the image for more!

COLOR!!!! This home has an amazing mesh of brights throughout. I would have never thought it could work, but it definitely does. See more! cute are these??? Want.

And finally, a diamond pendant. Brilliant. I think every girl is already figuring out how to incorporate this into their feminine spaces. I know I am! Dream desk is definitely including one of these.

Woo hooo! Hang in there, the week's halfway over!

DIY Inspiration

So...I'm not really a very big DIY person. As in, I'm lazy. I really, really love the idea of DIYs though because Pinterest and HGTV make projects look so easy and they look so good after they're finished. It always gives me confidence I can grab a saw and a hammer and make a dining table out of reclaimed wood. But then remember how I got a C in shop class in middle school and how my DIY chalkboard painted mason jars (Christmas gifts for my family this year) turned out...well...let's just say when I got mad at the fiance for saying they looked "white trash"...I had to bite my tongue at the reactions I got when the wrapping paper came off. Sorry, family.

I still feel like I have it in me to create at least one beautiful DIY piece sometime in my life. And to add to my confidence, CasaSugar has compiled a list of 75 of the best DIYs currently floating around the bloggosphere. Here are the ones I would like to tackle...someday...

How gorgeous is this barn door?? I would have never guessed this was a DIY. Which
makes me apprehensive to ever think about trying it, but I'm thinking positively here.

These wine bottle vases are so cute and so simple. These would look so pretty
on a powder room wall filled with lavender or Billy Balls.

I normally don't go for things that involve doilys, however, there is something
so romantic about these candle holders. Maybe it's the coupling with the twine
that makes it work for me.

I've been really loving faux taxidermy lately - porcelain and cardboard, namely.
The one above is a Styrofoam head wrapped in old book pages, and it looks so chic!

Would you believe that this chandelier is in fact not a version of
the Capis Shell Chandelier? That it's actually made entirely of wax paper cutouts??
You'd never know the difference!

Okay. So I would normally never post anything about poufs because I hate them.
I hate everything about them. I think they are all hideous and impractical. However,
I had to post this because I am so impressed with how similar these DIY poufs look
to the Moroccan poufs that are so nauseatingly popular right now. Seriously. Try
going to any interior design blog and not finding a pouf within the first five posts.

This is a DIY for a stamped rug, but I'm really only posting this because it features
a Rhodesian Ridgeback. LOOK AT HIM!!!!

Small Cool

The great interior blog Apartment Therapy is in the thick of its 8th annual Small Cool Contest. All entries are now in, and I'm super excited to see which small spaces receive this year's honor! The contest has readers submit images of their small but cool living space in the categories Teeny-Tiny, Tiny, Little, Small and International and readers vote for their favorites. I love the idea of living in a space where no inch goes unused. Head on over to check out all the interior eye-candy and vote for your favorites before they announce the winners!

Here are the ones I voted for:

Arm Party

Let's talk about arm parties.

arm par·ty [ahrm pahr-tee]
1. A collection of bangles, bracelets, watches and anything else you can wrap around a limb, piled high and worn on one or both wrists

Made popular by fashion and style bloggers around the world in early 2010s. Perfected by blogger Blair Eadie (see Atlantic-Pacific).

Did you see that bangin' arm party on Devon Rachel the other day? Yeah. I know. It had like 12 pieces in it! Gorg.

Arm parties have been around for a few years now. You would think the lavish and superfluous amounts of gold, silver, rhinestones and, more recently, neons, would have worn down and tired our wrists by now. But no. They continue to morph and grow with each passing trend, and damnit, they look good.

As you can see, my sad little arm doesn't have very many friends to invite to the party right now.

But don't mention it to her. She's sensitive about the whole issue. Something about money and saving and not spending $118 on a crystal(like)-encrusted bracelet? I don't know. Whatever. Sounds dumb to me.

Here are some of the A-list arm parties my arm will, sadly, probably never get invited to (click image for source):

Weekend Recap

Friday: Freaked out because of the pending storms across the midwest. There was a cell producing tornadoes in Norman and it was headed RIGHT FOR TULSA. Now. Let me preface this by letting you know that when I was little, I used to cry when it rained because I was so afraid that meant there was going to be a tornado. I'm happy to say I no longer suffer from this ailment. But when you work at a disaster response organization, in a frail house without a basement, in the middle of tornado alley...let's just say I wasn't the calmest on Friday. Luckily, Tulsa was spared and we only suffered moderate thunderstorms. Plus, staying in meant I was able to watch Blue Valentine. Oh, Ryan.

Saturday: Spent most of the day making these bad boyz:

Ballpark Pretzels with Jalapeno Cheese Sauce

This was my first attempt at making bread from scratch, and I have to say, it worked out prettttty well. It took me about 4 hours from start to finish, but it was definitely well worth it! Also survived the storms this night. I think a few glasses of a friend's homemade hurricane (theme party) helped with that.

Aaaaand Sunday: Spent pretty much the whole day on all fours, gettin' down and dirty. CLEANING THE HOUSE, PEOPLE. We had our landlord do a walk-through so we would know what to expect upon the big move (T-minus 3 weeks, baby). You can imagine what a fun day that made for, so I treated myself at the end of it by purchasing these...'FO FREE:

1: Tank | 2: Blouse | 3: Sweater | 4: Sandals

They're all Old Navy. I get "Thank You" points through my credit card, and as a part of that, you can get gift cards to a select few stores. I had my eye on the pastel blouse for a while, so I picked the Old Navy card and was able to scoop up the other 3 to max it out. I spent a whopping $0.66 on this purchase, thank you very much! Pun intended.

And the countdown to move-day continues...

Happy Easter!

This Easter was pretty chill in Tulsa, but we did go to Tony's boss' for a nice feast and plenty of bottomless glasses. I brought the following to the party:

They were a huge hit. The photo above was obviously not taken by me. Here's all I could manage before the last nest was grabbed:

And here rests my case, once again, that I really need a new camera charger. PS - did I mention how crafty I think am? Happy Easter, everyone!
